Overview

Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor (DSRCT) is a rare, aggressive cancer that most often grows in the abdomen or pelvis. It primarily affects young males (ages 10–30) but can occur in anyone.

  • Biopsy to confirm the diagnosis.

Treatment options

Chemotherapy

It is the first-line treatment to shrink the tumor.

Surgery

Removes as much tumor as possible.

Radiation Therapy

Targets residual cancer cells, especially in sensitive areas.

Targeted therapy and Immunotherapy.

Prognosis

Prognosis remains poor, as this cancer is aggressive and often diagnosed at an advanced stage.
